Support is Vital.
My hope is that all of us will be honored with the gift of healthy longevity.
Between 2000 and 2014, Americans aged 65 and greater increased by 32.2%, to a total of 46.2 million Americans. This growth will continue! Due to advances in medicine and healthcare, it is projected that we will live longer and well into our 80’s and beyond.
It is projected that by 2025, the number of people age 65 and older with Alzheimer’s dementia will reach 7.1 million. By 2050, the number of people age 65 and older with Alzheimer’s dementia may be 13.8 million, barring the development of medical breakthroughs to prevent, slow, or cure this disease (Alzheimer’s Association. 2018 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures. Alzheimers Dement 2018;14(3):367-429 ).
AD destroys a brain's nerve cells so it can no longer communicate with the rest of the body, resulting in a tragic, indescribable loss of the person we love, or we lose ourselves. We have learned that AD affects the brain 20-30 years before any symptoms are experienced!
There is no cure, and the treatment and research is not promising, nor does it slow the progression of this deadly disease.
In 2014, Dr. Dale Bredesen published a research paper called, Reversal of cognitive decline: A novel therapeutic program, and went on to publish the End of Alzheimer's. The First Program to Prevent and Reverse Cognitive Decline.
There is hope in the prevention of this horrible, life and love taking disease by learning about, implementing and optimizing lifestyle strategies (the behaviors we do) daily!
Brave Mind Living focuses on the achievable lifestyle strategies of: Nourishment, Movement, better Sleep , Stress Reduction, Continuous Learning and positive Socialization. The things we do on a daily basis are the corner stones for preventing AD and dementia. We can have control over the prevention of dementia if we take action now.
We want everyone to learn and practice them so Alzheimer’s and dementia are diseases of the past. When we live these strategies, an amazing side effect is that we feel alive, energetic, strong, present and purposeful!
So, we honor the life you bring to our community and support your vision of health, for you deserve to live your best life in well-being and wholeness throughout all stages of living.
